Prussian Blue is one of the most controversial bands in America. It consists of two young twin girls, Lamb and Lynx Gaede, who sing catchy songs that appeal to other kids. The twins may seem like many other talented young stars that perform for crowds and take center media attention; however their music is controversial and to some, offensive.
The girls and their family are White Nationalists and much of their beliefs are in their music. Their music video “Victory Day” takes place in a picturesque open field where the girls are playing with their little sister. The setting and girls look so peaceful and innocent as they sing and play their instruments in dresses. However the realization of their message comes into focus if you pay really close attention to the lyrics of the song:
“Well sit down and listen, to what I have to say. Soon will come a great war, a bloody but holy day. And after that purging, our people will be free, and sing up in the bright skies, a sun for all to see...Times are very tough now for a proud White man to live. And although it may appear that this world has no life to give. Times are soon changing, this cant go on for long. And on that joyful summer's day we'll sing our Victory song...The women, they'll smile, on Victory Day. And the children, they'll laugh and they'll sing and they'll play. And the forests will echo our grace, for the brand new dawn of our Race...You are my brother and in war we proudly sing. Our Cause shall never tire. Our gift to you we bring: A holy creed of Racial purpose, A mighty Race to defend. And when we fly our holy flag their oppressive reign shall end...And when we finally conquer, our people will be free. And all across this great land, the bold Truth we shall see.So as we march together, to avoid catastrophe, let's remember always our sacred Destiny...”

"Victory Day" is about a day in the future where there will be a war of the races. It is also a message of racial purification. As someone of color, the song is threatening and a little scary. Afterall, it is a tune that hopes for my demise. The song reminded me of Hitler's efforts to purify the German race from people who he believed were inferior. The song and lyrics have a patriotic style to it, which is meant to rally fellow members and create a brotherhood. It also appeals to members of all class and social statuses.
Their website contains content that most official fan website have: information about performances, downloads, pictures, and copies of their CDs. However, the most important part of their site to examine is their biography. It states that the girls were homeschooled by their mother from the first to seventh grade. From this, it is apparent that the girls were mainly influenced by their mother, who is a white natationalist. Also, there is a big chance that they rarely got any exposure to people who are of a different race from them.

I am really glad that you chose this topic because this is a group that I have never even heard of, but when we started talking about there mom being a white nationalist and they are two young white twin girls, speaking to a young as well as old audience it almost made me think that they are using this girls as an "institution" if it makes sense.. we always talk about schools, religion, family, and military being major institutions for spreading beliefes, but these girls speak to the younger audience who are extremely influenced especially by music and music videos and they try to disguise the hate message with a nice beat and pretty video. In reading about them I decided to go on their site and I found some more lyrics that I felt related and it was from the sone I will bleed for you...
I see you all around me. I see the apathy in your eyes, knowing not what it means to be free, watching as the White flame dies.
It means nothing to you, Pride is an unknown trait. Tell me what are you gonna do run and hide or face the hate?
To every man who doesn't dream, I am the Dreamer. To every man who doesn't believe, I'm the Believer. To every man who doesn't Receive. I'm the receiver. To every man who refuses to bleed, I will bleed for you....
Well you're walking round in circles, burying your head in the sand. Watching but not caring, while they rape your land. Turning your face to the wall, living in a second class world, while the valiant stand and fall. You just do as your told. Tell me how do you live with yourself?
Hang your head in shame.
Have you no pride in your heritage,
and no pride in your name? I'm glad that
I'm not like you. I know my children are proud of me. While yours still suffer too, mine I know will always stay free.
In the song they use THEY and YOUR LAND..so its the implied other this is causing this "white flame" to die and I just thought it was so interesting to see that still today much of which we have talked about the white race feels threatened that anyone else is on the land that they raped, and killed for to claim as their own. Really good topic!

I definately do think it is a start for a woman to have so many supporters as she is running for president, but I think the deciding factor in how far we have come will be decided when it comes down to election day. It is a big road block when it does come to sending women internationally to conduct business because other countries do have other customs and do see women as inferior. I think it can only be taken one day at a time and people who are already in the system need to try and make a change and not just fall into the systematic prejudices that companies have had for so long. Thank you for your question back, Hilary running for president hadn't even crossed my mind in writing this and it goes to show there are so many things we don't think about when it comes to discrimination or opression of certain groups.
Wow! This was very shocking to me. I have never heard of this band, and for the most part, I never hear of white nationalism bring present in today's society. I followed a related link on youtube to a Good Morning America piece about these girls and their cause and one lady in the clip says that Hate groups are up 30% in the last five years. How did you find out about this song/group?
That white nationalist groups are using children to recruit people for their cause is very disturbing. In their interview on Good Morning America, they almost came off as being ignorant about the subject of the Holocaust, making assumptions in order to protect what they have been led to believe. When asked about Hitler and his extermination of 6 million Jews, they simply said that they thought it was an exaggeration. But, even if it is an exaggeration, would these girls be okay with the extermination of, say, 1 million Jews?
The lyrics of their songs suggest that they would. The imagery of war and bloodshed being used to remove other races, cultures, languages, and traditions, embodies completely the definition of genocide provided in our Working Definitions packet.
I daresay that, if these girls were put in a position where they actually witnessed genocide or even took an active part in it, they would be singing a different tune, (pardon the pun).
They employ a method of sugar-coating their message that completely dumbs down the severity of the subject.
Thank you for posting this video. As I said before, I wasn't aware that white nationalism to this extent was at all prersent in our society. Hopefully, the youth of our nation will be aware of these girls' background and will view this song as more of a cautionary tool than a song of inspiration.
